Tracey Leigh
Stone
Apr 26, 1960 — Apr 1, 2024
Tracey Leigh Stone died April 1, 2024, in Arlington, Texas after a brief illness. Born April 26, 1960 in Bradford, Pennsylvania to the late Robert D. and the late Pamela J. Rowen, she is survived by her daughter, US Navy Ensign Courtney Campodonica (Robert) of San Diego, California, son Robert C. Stone of Arlington, two sisters, Stephanie A. Rowen, and Dr. Robin Rowen also of Arlington, Texas, and her beloved Pug, Lylu.
Tracey had a 40-year career beginning as a fearless, but gentle animal control officer before working as a telecommunications project manager. She was respected for her mastery of spreadsheets and project control software. Tracey's attention to detail and extraordinary concentration were not only evident in her career, but also in her quilting business. Her quilts were sought after all over the country because of their intricate geometry and kaleidoscopic color patterns.
She shared the marvels and beauty of the stars and planets with her son, Robert. Her daughter Courtney's Navy service and recent promotion to Ensign gave Tracey enormous pride and satisfaction as a "Navy Mom."
Tracey's friends and family marveled at her ability to assemble devices and perform carpentry projects after only an hour or so studying instructions or plans. A fan of classic black and white movies, a true Renaissance woman, she was a gifted learner, a talented painter, and taught herself how play the piano and cello as well as any other instrument she sought to master. She shared her talents and time generously with a special kind of love and sweetness that all who knew her will miss dearly.
