She Took The Road Less Traveled

Susan Margaret Riewe was born on November 17, 1957 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. The only daughter in a family of four, she was beloved by her parents and three brothers. Bryn Mawr could not hold her mercurial spirit. After graduating Saint Joseph High school in South Bend and Ball State University, class of 1979, she made her way to Dallas, Texas where she pursued a career as a systems analyst.

Susan's passion for travel took her to many unique destinations. She was not a mere tourist, but an explorer who scaled mountains in South America, skied down slopes in the U.S. and Canada, scuba dived in the Red Sea, and trekked through Egypt and Africa. She chronicled her adventures in annual letters to share her amazing experiences.

She is survived by three brothers: Charles Paul Riewe, Roger Michael Riewe and Donald Christopher Riewe, as well as five nephews: Calin Riewe, Cameron Riewe, Cody Riewe, Christian Riewe, Justin Kindig, and one niece, Cayla Riewe. She is also survived by numerous colleagues, countless friends and fellow travelers. Her engaging personality made an indelible impression on everyone she met.
