Stephen Randal Stokes was born in Dallas a little more than 70 years ago. He died at home on July 21, 2022.  Steve graduated from Trinity High School in Euless, and he attended East Texas State University where he earned a BA in Political Science.  Steve lived and worked in Austin for over 15 years. He also spent time in Los Angeles and Houston before settling in Dallas.

Steve was an avid reader, a music enthusiast, a film aficionado, and a gifted writer.  He was a cat lover who doted on Minky, Dinky, Ninja, and Oreo.  Growing up, Steve was big brother, babysitter, rule enforcer, and creative recreation leader to Jane and Joe.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Norine Yates and Myles Stokes. Steve is survived by his brother, Joe Stokes; sister, Jane Stokes Pavelko; brother-in-law, Bob Pavelko.
