Obituary

Stephen M. Bockrath, 74, was born July 1,1949 in Dayton, Ohio. He passed away December 5th, 2023 in Burleson, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 3, 2024 at St. Helen's, located at 605 Granville Pl, Dayton, OH 45431 starting at 10:00 AM. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Bockrath, survived by his mother, Joan Lee, Bockrath, his sister, Susan Beall,  Brothers Robert L. (Deborah), Joseph E., (Susan), Jeffrey, A and James A. (Lynda) Bockrath. He had 14 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Steve learned to love music and sing with the Choir of Holy Rosary in North Dayton. Steve was a singer and musician and he played guitar for the bands Four-Most, Blue Max, and Captain Crunch and The Crew. He was a songwriter, and was an early publisher of songs to the Internet.  He toured with the North American Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar where he visited most every major city in the States. After the Tour, he settled in Austin, TX, the best City in America according to Steve!

He was an Active Duty soldier in Vietnam, one of the first few deployed to Cambodia (That's still a government secret so don't tell anyone). Steve was an Entrepreneur, He built and ran Fastaco restaurants in Austin and Burleson and many other locations.  He was an artistic and caring mentor to many in the Austin and Burleson community. He was a lover of animals.
