Shirley Jean McCullough, 90, of Granbury, Texas entered into eternal peace on Thursday, July 26, 2018 with family and dear friends by her side.
A witness to the Resurrection and a Celebration of life will be held August 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Granbury, Texas, 303 West Bridge Street with Pastor Drew Travis officiating.
Shirley was born May 31, 1928 in Centralia, Illinois to her parents Owen and Edna Stevens. She graduated from Centralia High School, where she met the love of her life, Charles McCullough. Because of her husband's job, Shirley and Charles were able to travel to many places. Even after retiring in Destin, Florida, their love to travel thrived. They especially loved going to Disney World at least twice a year.
Shirley was an Eastern Star. Her greatest happiness was her husband Charles of 69 years, her children and grandchildren.
She was a wonderful and dear wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved and adored by her family and many great friends for her caring and loving heart. She was always upbeat and happy with a contagious smile. She loved life, people, shopping, and jewelry.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McCullough; her parents, Owen and Edna Stevens; her grandparents, Charles and Mamie Hardisty; sister, Leone Keenan; and son-in-law Ronald Pirro.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her two daughters, Traci McCullough (Phil Jackson), and Terre-Pirro; two granddaughters, Courtney Meyers (Jeff Meyers), and Kelly Pirro Stevens (Scott Stevens); two great-granddaughters, Georgia Meyers and Emily Stevens; half-sister, Jane McBride of Huntsville, AL; half-brother, Dudley Stevens of Springville, IL;and many, many dear friends.
In her final years of life, Shirley battled Metastatic brain tumors. Though the Lord took her home in her last battle, Shirley will always be remembered as a fighter who had beaten the odds more times than once. All so she could bless those around her with her unbound love. She was never seen without a smile on her face.
