With sadness we announce the passing of Sandra Cheryl Thurbin (Sandi) aged 71, of Dallas, Texas, who left us peacefully on November 10th 2021.
Sandi was born May 18th 1950 in Dallas to James Cherry Sr. and Mildred L. Cherry.

She attended Kimball High School and subsequently graduated from Argosy University, thereby achieving a long standing ambition to gain a Master of Arts in Community Counselling in 2012.

Sandra loved playing the piano and listening to music and passed this appreciation on to her children. She had special nicknames for each one in turn and was their greatest supporter. She adored and was affectionately known by her grandchildren as 'Daisy'. Sandi overcame many adversities during her lifetime but had an unshakeable faith which never waivered, carrying her through the darkest moments. As her health declined, she would often say how blessed she was and spoke of God's grace.

Sandi had a dry sense of humour, loved practical jokes and to tease those closest to her. She would thoughtfully enquire after the well being of others rather than dwell on her own misfortunes. She was a fighter and remained strong until the end - her battle with numerous medical conditions in later years, demonstrated what resilience and perseverance truly look like.

Sandra is survived by brothers; Stephen Williams, Bradley Cherry, James C. Cherry Jr., her elder sister, Virginia England and five children; Mark Gomez, Shannon Collins, Lindie Goodwin, Joshua Walker and Richard Thurbin. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

A memorial followed by a wake will take place on November 21st at 12:00 o'clock noon in Waxahachie, Tx. Close friends and family are invited to join us in remembering Sandi.
