Sandra Jones Hiatrides was born December 4, 1942 in Anniston, Alabama. Sandi completed her earthly journey and went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2021 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel David Jones, Sr., and Dorothy McCord Jones of Lineville, Alabama; grandparents, John Thomas McCord, Frances Lipham McCord of Lineville, Alabama,  Robert Styles Jones, Lex Brown Jones of Alexander City, Alabama; uncles, John Bryant McCord of Lineville, Alabama, William Artemis McCord, wife Eleanor of Mableton, Georgia; aunts, Margie McCord Nance, husband Travis of Bynum, Alabama,  Robbie Jones Wedgworth of Alexander City, Alabama, Lela Jones Payne of Montgomery, Alabama, Thelma Jones Young of Alexander City, Alabama, Susie Mae Jones Edwards, of Alexander City Alabama, Levis Jones of Mobile, Alabama,  Mertis Jones Shoffeit of Alexander City, Alabama, Bunice Jones Smith of Alexander City, Alabama, Athel Jones Reeves of Camp Hill, Alabama;  cousin, Brenda Wedgworth Sellars of Alexander City, Alabama.

She is survived by brother, Samuel David Jones, Jr., wife Cheryl and nephew, Samuel David Jones III and niece, Hannah Renee Jones of Ft. Worth, Texas;  aunt, Gail McCord of Lineville, Alabama; cousins, Helen McCord Gibson, husband Keith of Columbiana, Alabama, Melanie McCord of Lineville, Alabama, James Nance, wife Debbie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Susan Nance List of Prattville, Alabama, Tom Nance of Bynum, Alabama, Robert Wedgworth, Lex Wedgworth and Larry Wedgworth of Alexander City, Alabama.

Sandra loved the Lord and is now reunited with her parents and her grandparents, whom she loved very much.  Sandi loved life and despite being in poor health the last few years, fought very hard to regain her health and well-being.  She loved her family and was always wanting to get together to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Sandi is living the promise that to be absent from her earthly body is to be present with the Lord.

Before retirement, Sandi worked for years as Assistant to the Dean of Admissions at Syracuse University in upstate New York and Administrative Assistant for the Salvation Army in Ft. Worth, Tx. She was a hard worker and was endeared by her employers and employees in her work environment. She was an avid sports fan and along with her brother, loved Auburn football. War Eagle!!  In her early twenties, she worked on campus at Auburn in the ROTC department.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Glenview Church, Ft. Worth, TX., building fund.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at Glenview Church in Ft. Worth.  Visitation will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be in Lineville, Alabama in the Spring of 2022.
