Sammy David Brooks, 72, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2021.
Sammy was born on November 8, 1948 in Mexia, Texas to Lucious B. Brooks and Hester Proctor. He graduated from Blackshear High School and also attended Odessa College in Odessa, TX and West Texas State University in Canyon, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucious Brooks and Hester Proctor; his sisters, Mavis Jefferson, Maggie Brooks, Elois Wilson, Mae Jameson and Dean Brooks; his brothers, Jimmy Lee Brooks, Sr., Odell Brooks, L.B. Brooks, Jr. and Raymond Zachariah Everett, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Hollis Jewel Brooks; son, David Breon Brooks and wife, Tiana; daughters, Shardai Danielle Dawson and Chelsea Nicole Odelugo and husband, Jude; 5 grandchildren, Tyrique Breon Brooks, Terrance Tarenzo Brooks, Londyn Dominique Shearer, Alanna Jewel Chinyere Odelugo and Tristen Dawson Brooks; his sisters, Jeralyn P. Brooks of Silver Spring, MD, Elizabeth Lynn Williams and husband, Harry Williams of Amarillo, TX and Doris Brooks of Fort Worth, TX; brothers, Donald Ray Everett and Paul Glynn Everett of Odessa, TX; He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
