Robert Eric Wood, 69, passed away on April 18th, 2021 at Revere Court in Arlington, Texas after a long battle with Dementia.Eric was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Eric was a lifelong Texan, born in Paris, Texas on April 20th, 1951. His life of service began when he joined the United States Marine Corp right after graduating from Irving High School. After serving 1 tour from 1970-1974, he left the Marine Corp as a Sergeant with time spent in Vietnam and various European Countries. Eric continued to serve others when he became a Fireman/Security Officer with Vought Aircraft Industries, retiring after 38 years as Lieutenant. Eric's passion to serve was evident in all aspects of his life.
Eric graduated in 1986 from Dallas Baptist College with a Bachelor of Career Arts.
Eric married Vicki Knight on March 7th, 1995, whom he loved deeply. Their blended family consisted of three children, Jason Wood, Erica Brunett and Brendi Romick, all of whom he loved to brag about to everyone who would listen to him. Eric's family was a great sense of pride and joy for him.
Eric was a member of the Sons' of America Revolution, 32nd degree Mason, and Thomas Hunter Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; his children, Jason and wife, Edna Wood, Erica and husband, Mike Brunett, and Brendi and husband, Craig Romick; grandchildren, Amber Wood, Andrea Wood, Taylor Brunett, Jenna Brunett, Brooke Brunett, Reed Tubbs and Lilly Tubbs; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Wood and Addison Wood; father, Paul Wood; brother, Grant Wood; sister, Mardell Wood; and finally his favorite fur buddy, Highland.
A service and internment will occur at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on June 1, 2021 at 9:00 AM.
