Robert (Bob) Lee Simmons of Watauga, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family under the care of Magnolia Hospice on March 5, 2023.  He was born January 18, 1940 to the late Willie and Bonnie Simmons.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers William (Pete) Simmons, Dallas Simmons, Sisters Jessie Mae Simmons Wiley and Shirley Simmons Langford.  Robert served in The United States Navy from 1960-1964 as active duty and was in the reserves from 1964-1966. He retired from American Airlines in 2003.  Bob spent his retired years being the worlds best Grandpa and Great Grandpa! He loved to spend time with Jon-Logan at the range and enjoyed his time at the field watching Taylor play softball.  Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Opal Martin Simmons; Daughter, Shelly Simmons Davis and Son Robert Lee Simmons Jr. (Susan); Brothers Ralph Simmons (Judith) and Willie Simmons; Grandchildren Jon-Logan Davis (Paige), Taylor Davis (Andrew); Great grandchildren Amora Uribe and Kobe Davis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
