Robert Willam Denham passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on February 18, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was born to Joseph Clarence Denham and Sylvia Almeda Garrett in Woodward Oklahoma on June 10, 1934.
After high school, Robert joined The United States Air Force where he served 20 years, 3 months, and 18 days. He was very proud of his service. During that time he met and married the love of his life Peggy Scanlan. They were stationed in several locations during his military service and retired in Denver, Colorado before relocating to Benbrook, Texas. Robert went to work for General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin where he retired after 20 years as an inspector.
Robert was a devout Christian, hard working, and a dedicated family man. Nothing made him smile bigger than anytime one of his grandchildren walked into the room. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Jo Denham; uncle, Melvin Garrett; aunt, Marie Garrett; and sister-in-law, Bobby Jean Denham.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Peggy Denham of Benbrook Texas; daughter, Judy Ferris and Spouse Priscilla Baker of Austin, Texas;son Robert Denham, Jr., of Benbrook Texas; daughter, Sherie Irvine of Benbrook Texas; daughter, Kimberly Ellison
and husband Jeff of Benbrook Texas; daughter, Kristen Mitchell and husband James of Azle, Texas; daughter, Erin Jones and husband Jason of Joshua,Texas; his brother, Clarence Leroy Denham of Forgan, Oklahoma; two nieces, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Nothing brought himmore happiness than the love of his family.
Full Military Honors will be held at the DFW National Cemetery on March 5, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Benbrook on March 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., 1015 McKinley Street, Benbrook, Texas 76126.
