Obituary

Robert Lynn Day (61) of Keene, Texas went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.He was born in Woodward Oklahoma on May 6, 1959 to Verlin and Wilma (Lynes) Day. Robbie was raised in Vici, Oklahoma, where he developed many lasting friendships, especially his Classmates from the Class of '77 who all stayed in contact throughout the years, and celebrated their 60th birthday together last fall.Robbie loved to hunt and fish in his younger days.Robbie started his professional career with his first job at Andrew's Phillips 66 in Vici while he was in high school. He moved to Enid, OK and worked for Astro Drilling after graduation, and in 1980 he went to work for Hodges Trucking Company and there he made a 35 year career as a Diesel Mechanic and Shop Foreman.Robbie retired in 2015.He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.In 2016, Robbie went to work part-time for Hudson Bus Sales, in Cleburne, Texas.There he made many treasured friends. This gave him an opportunity to travel throughout the United States delivering and picking up buses for schools and daycares.He enjoyed posting about his many travels on Facebook. Robbie also enjoyed working with I-20 Truck and Trailer Repair in Big Spring, Texas with a couple of his Buddies!
Robbie met the love of his life,Cindy when he was a senior in high school.They were wed on November 2, 1979.They fostered 54 children and adopted four sons.
Robbie is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cindy; son, Sam and wife Megan, and their three children, Mackenzie, Nataliya and Sebastian; son Ray of the home; son Roman and his two children, Deisy and Giovanni Verlin; son Roby & wife Margo and their children, Jeremiah, Joseph and Wilson.Robbie is also survived by his mother, Wilma Day of Vici; sister Sonya Key and brother in law, Melvin; and his brother, Jim Day, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and countless friends.
Robbie was preceded in death by an infant son; his father, Verlin Day, and his loving grandparents, Jimmie and Mildred Day, and Clarence and Beulah Lynes andhis brother-in-law, John Campbell.
The family is appreciative of the many expressions of sympathy that have been received. It was Robbie's wish to be cremated without a viewing.In lieu of a service, there will be a Celebration of Life to honor Robbie at a later time.
