Paul John Raitz
Born July 1, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio. Passed away July 23, 2018 after a determined battle with cancer. Survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy, son, Dave (Julie) of Elk River, MN, and granddaughter, Lisa (John) and their children, Jack and Lauryn of White Bear Lake, MN. Sisters, Shirley Vogelsang, Norma Gibbons, and Carol Meek, all of Toledo and 18 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Norma Raitz and brothers, Edward, James, Keith, and Glenn.
Served in the US Army during the Korean War stationed at the Panama Canal. After his service he began a 40+ year career with Armour Foods. He was a Key Account Salesman and also a Product Manager in Toledo and Cincinnati,OH; Louisville, KY, and Ft Worth and Arlington. He attended the University of Toledo, Bellarmine College in Louisville and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a business management degree.
Always a huge baseball fan that included a couple of professional tryouts. He enjoyed retired life as an usher for the Texas Rangers for 25 years. His wife also ushered the last 22 years. He often mentioned, "who would've thought I could get paid watching baseball"? He also enjoyed many years playing and managing the Arlington Clippers in Senior Softball.
