Nova Eloise Patterson Cramer was born on December 14, 1936, in Petrolia, Texas, to Curtis and Ethel Patterson. From the very beginning, her life was rooted in family and faith.

Although she only lived in Petrolia until the age of 12, she carried a deep affection for her hometown throughout her life and remained closely connected to the many aunts, uncles, and cousins who stayed in the area. When the family moved to Pecos, Texas, Nova quickly made it home. During her high school years there, she met the love of her life, Roy Cramer. After graduating from Pecos High School, Roy joined the Air Force and Nova attended Hardin-Simmons University. On July 20, 1957, the two were married, beginning what would become a 68-year union. In 1959 they welcomed their first child, Rebecca Lynn Cramer and in 1961 their son was born, Curtis Brian Cramer.

Over the next 30 years, the Lord led their family to live in several places across the Southwest, South, and Midwest parts of the country. But in 1984 they made their way back "home" to Texas. No matter where life took them, they quickly found a church home and built lasting friendships, and joyfully served their family, friends, and community.

Known to many as Nana, Nova was a woman of generous hospitality who made everyone feel welcomed, seen, and loved. She delighted in gathering people around her table for delicious home-cooked meals that often stretched into hours of laughter, stories, and games. And no gathering was ever complete without one of her famous cream pies. Her family affectionately called her "the food pusher," knowing you never left Nana's house hungry.

Nova loved many things in life, but her greatest joys were her faith in Jesus Christ and her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She rarely missed an event her grandchildren participated in, even if it meant traveling across the country. She loved cheering them on and was a steady source of encouragement, prayer, and unconditional love - not only for them but also for their friends.

Nova entered her heavenly home on September 3, 2025. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her warm hospitality, and her faith that was lived out daily in the way she cared for others and continually sought to reflect Christ.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Roy Cramer; daughter, Rebecca Cramer LaMar (Steve); son, Brian Cramer (Sara); grandchildren, Rachel LaMar Ballard (Brian), Jacob LaMar (Aubrie), Luke LaMar (Liesl), William Cramer (Natalie), Elizabeth Cramer Dodgen (Joseph), Cole Cramer, and Anna LaMar Friedman (Brooks); and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Owen, and Evan Ballard; Bryson and Lawson LaMar; Scarlett, Samuel, and Cody Everett; Mattie and Drake Dodgen; and Eloise Cramer. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Patterson, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Ethel Patterson.

A service to celebrate Nova's life will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Cross City Church in Euless, Texas, where she and Roy have been faithful members for 40 years.
