Monty Wayne Benton, 79, of Fort Worth went to meet our Lord and Savior on April 10, 2019. Monty was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 19, 1940.He was the only son of Cal and Bessie Mae Benton. Monty was preceded in death by both of his parents and one son, Britt Benton. Monty's parents moved the family to Fort Worth when he was a toddler due to a job opportunity.He attended Fort Worth schools and graduated from Paschal High School in 1958.
Monty was an entrepreneur most of his life.He owned multiple businesses, but was most known in the Fort Worth community for his ownership role at MB Motors, Inc. Monty enjoyed playing cards with his friends on a regular basis, going to the lake, and he also enjoyed traveling. He was a devoted father and loving grandfather. Above all, Monty enjoyed giving of his time and attention to his grandchildren. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Big Cheese". He loved attending all family gatherings no matter the miles and had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.
He is survived by a son, Monty Benton, Jr; grandchildren, Elizabeth Cox, Emily Martin, Justin Burchinal, Cole Benton, Brittnye Benton, Trey Benton, Blake Benton, and Leah Frank.He is also survived by his great- grandchildren, Madison and Lucas Cox, Audrey and Austin Martin, Ellie Burchinal, Jayson and Jetta Benton, Hayden and Ember Benton, and Zion Benton.
A memorial service in Monty's honor will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019, at La Puertita at Joe T. Garcia's, (old church across from Joe T. Garcia's) 2201 N. Commerce St., Fort Worth, Texas76164.
