Micheal Glen Hammons of Arlington, Texas, passed away on December 8, 2022, after a brave fight against lung cancer.

Micheal was born in Childress, Texas, on December 12, 1955, to Glen Edward Hammons and Patsy Jo (Vaught) Hammons. After graduating from Canyon High School, Micheal went on to study Fine Art and Graphic Design at West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.

After graduating with a BFA in Fine Art and Graphic Design, Micheal went to work as a Graphic Designer at Tarter Design Studio in Amarillo, Texas. It was there that he met his future wife, Linda and they were married in 1984. For the next few years, Micheal worked at various jobs in the advertising and banking industry, but his first love was always his love of painting and fine art, which he continued to pursue in his free time.

In the late 1990's, Micheal was living in Round Rock, Texas. During this time, a fellow artist offered him a position as instructor at a private art school. Through this opportunity, Micheal discovered two things: he loved teaching, and he was very good at it. This job surprisingly turned out to be a lifelong career, and in the early 2000's Micheal took over ownership of the Art School of Williamson County. He continued to run the school and teach for the next 20+ years. He left an impression on countless people and art collectors along the way and established himself as a gifted and talented artist who will be missed by many.

Micheal was also deaf. Another great passion was learning sign language. In 2014, he earned a degree in American Sign Language. He immediately signed up to go on a mission trip to Haiti as an ASL interpreter to a deaf village. He felt an immediate connection with the Haitian people and wanted to help the deaf villages in any way he could. Micheal's non-profit to help feed, clothe, and educate Haiti's deaf community, "Breaking Thru the Silence" was created. This non-profit currently provides food, water, and clothing to approximately eight families and one orphanage in Haiti.

Micheal is survived by his wife, Linda of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Angela McCarter of Austin, Texas, and Laura Fergeson of Arlington, Texas; two sons-in-law, Sean McCarter and Matt Fergeson; three grandsons, Matty, Max, and Mason of Arlington, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark Hammons and Ronda Hammons of Seguin, Texas; three nephews, Tyler, Ethan, and Dylan, and two nieces, Holly and Sarah. Micheal had the kindest most loving heart and will be missed by anyone lucky enough to meet him along the way.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Southside City Church, 2606 Hemphill Street, Ft.
