Some people leave behind accomplishments. Others leave behind stories. Michaela Renee Tuttle, known and loved as Mikie, Mom, Juju, and friend, leaves behind enough stories to keep her family laughing and smiling, even through their tears.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, Mikie left this world unexpectedly. While her family wasn't ready to say goodbye, there's comfort in knowing she was welcomed home by her beloved husband, Greg—the love of her life.

Mikie was born on February 24, 1959, in Independence, Kansas. Before she was even ten years old, life had already taught her how to pack a suitcase…though if you knew Mikie, you also knew she was usually the last one out the door. Thanks to her dad's career, home became an adventure as the family lived in Houston, Texas; Bellevue, Washington; Anchorage, Alaska; and Covina, California. It was in Covina that she met Greg, and the rest, as they say, was history. They married on October 15, 1983, and began to build their life together in California. When the boys were young, they moved to Texas, making a home in both Arlington and Crockett, Texas.

If you knew Mikie, you knew she had a wonderful and quirky sense of humor. She could laugh at herself, find something funny in almost any situation, and somehow make everyone around her feel a little lighter. She also never outgrew her love for the 1970s. Whether it was the music, the movies, the colorful style, or simply the memories that decade held, she embraced it with joy. She wasn't trying to relive the past; she just believed some things—like great songs, peace signs, and tie-dye—never went out of style.

Mikie loved her sons fiercely and unconditionally. Some might call her a mama bear. Then came her favorite role of all: Juju. Violet Summer and Nora Charlotte were the light of her life. Being their grandmother filled her heart in ways words can hardly describe. They brought a special sparkle to her eyes. She adored every moment she spent with them and treasured every smile, every hug, and every chance to make another memory.

Her nieces and nephews knew Aunt Mikie was more than family. She was the person you called when life got messy. She listened without judgment, kept your confidence, and reminded you that somehow everything would be okay. She had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, heard, and deeply loved.

She leaves behind her sons, Ian Tuttle and his wife Chelsey, Andrew Tuttle, and Tyler Tuttle and his wife Alyson; her cherished granddaughters, Violet Summer and Nora Charlotte Tuttle; her sister, Bobby Wooten and her husband, David; her sister, Jacque Fleming and her husband, Raymond; her brother, Chuck DeBolt and his wife, Tracy; her cousin, Phyllis Wiles Flatterich; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have been loved by Mikie.

Mikie was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Tuttle; her parents, Bob and Dee DeBolt; her sister, Terry Bodwell; her brother-in-law, Udell Bodwell; and her nephew, Kyle Douglas Ekstrom.

Though her chair is empty and her voice is quiet, her love, laughter, quick wit, and unmistakable spirit live on in every story shared, every picture taken, and every song that brings back a memory. If you happen to hear a favorite classic rock song and find yourself smiling, think of Mikie—she'd probably tell you to turn it up.

A Celebration of Life for Michaela will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Glenview Church, 4805 NE Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX, 76137, with Rev. Mike Marshall officiating.

Following the Celebration of Life, family and friends are invited to continue sharing memories, laughter, and stories at Wild Acre Restaurant & Beer Garden, 1734 E El Paso Street, Fort Worth, TX. Everyone whose life was touched by Mikie is welcome to join the family as they celebrate her life the way she would have wanted—with good food, good company, and plenty of stories that will keep her spirit alive.
