Mike McElyea 58 was an unexpected passing. Michael Edward McElyea was born on February 15, 1967 in Dallas County Texas. He was the son of Charlie and Phyllis McElyea. Mike graduated from Plano East Senior High in 1985. After high school he started working on cars for a living. Mike married Darla Eden on April  2, 1988. Mike was a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram mechanic for many years. He was a quadruple master certified technician in the Dallas metroplex area in 2020. He could fix almost anything, not just cars and trucks, he was our MacGyver. He was a smart, kind, thoughtful, and loving man. Mike was an awesome son, brother, husband, dad and uncle. Mike loved to go canoeing down the Brazos River with family and friends. He went canoeing with his son Benjamin and dog Little Bear who loved it just as much as them. He enjoyed his time with his daughter Brittany exploring new and old areas and finding little keepsakes. Mike was a loving son to Charlie and Phyllis, a brother to Angela Kerber. He was an amazing husband to Darla and an awesome dad to Benjamin and Brittany. He was the best uncle too.

Those left behind to cherish Mike's memory, his wife Darla, two children Benjamin (Kamron Brooks) and Brittany. One grandchild, Paysen Brooks. Parents, Charlie and Phyllis and sister's family Angela (Gary Kerber) Sarah and Aaron.
