Melvin Dale
Baldock
Jul 9, 1936 — Dec 14, 2022
Euless
Melvin "Mel" Dale Baldock passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022 at the age of 86, surrounded by his children.
Mel was born and raised in Irving, Texas, as the youngest of four children. He met his first wife, Beverly Jean, while he served in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he landed his first job with Hewlett Packard and enjoyed the many benefits of working for them. He transferred to Colorado with his wife and three children, where he enjoyed opportunities as a prominent member of the Ski club, bow hunting, fishing, camping and coaching the women's softball team.
He eventually returned to his family in Texas, where he met his second wife, Stephanie and raised his fourth child. They ultimately fulfilled their dream of retiring in Quitman.
He was often known to sing and play the guitar, loved dancing, motorcycle enthusiast, a chocolate and banana pudding fiend, and always a jokester, with a quick wit and wry sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Ruby Baldock, his siblings, Euel, LaVona, Ethel and both his wives. Mel is survived by his children, Cynthia Marquis, Michael Baldock (Elisa), LaVona Saraydar (Steve), Somersett Baldock, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers from HomeInstead, Brookdale Oak Hollow and St. Gabriel's Hospice. All your love and care over the past year has been greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled later to be determined.
