Mickey Rawls, 83, passed away after a long, hard battle with Alzheimer's on Friday, October 11, 2024 surrounded by family at her home in Aledo. Her Celebration of Life will be on Friday, November 1st at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hurst, TX, 852 W. Bedford Euless Road.

Mickey grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, then went to nursing school.  She met her husband Dave on an army base in Washington D.C., a story Dave loved to tell.  Mickey and her family moved to 5 different states before landing in Fort Worth.  She was a nurse for many years.  She then went on to form a company, Hold Everything, Inc., with her husband, and at one point, the entire family and extended family were working for them.  Mickey's heart knew no strangers.  She was a rescuer of people and an inspiration to so many.  She was an unstoppable force and an amazing entrepreneur, even being named a Yellow Rose of Texas by Governor Ann Richards.  Family was everything to Mickey and always came first.

Mickey is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, David Cola Rawls Sr., mother Grace Cooper, sister Carol Baker, brother George Randell, and her daughter Renee Rawls. Survivors: Daughter, Robin Thompson, and husband Brad; son, David "DJ" Rawls Jr., and wife, Lisa; son, Mike Burke, and wife, Lee; brother, David Randell, and wife, Rosemary; beloved grandchildren Rowan Kratz and wife, Tegan; Brianna Rawls; Catherine Rawls Evans and husband, Tony; Grace Rawls Kratz; Cash Thompson; Sarah Burke; Shana Burke Engel; and Andrea Burke Sweet; great-grandchildren Denver Renee Kratz and Cola Evans; her loyal 13-year-old shih-tzu, Beauregard; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Marianne, Mickey, Mom, Nannie will be deeply missed but never forgotten!
