In loving memory of our mom, Dr. Maria Rosa Lozano.  Natural born leader with many aspirations and dreams that she basically achieved one by one until the very end.

First female Dentist in Matamoros Mexico.  Relentless advocate of social justice in her community. Woman of the year award in the 90's for her many contributions in Matamoros.  President of basically every club she belonged to.  PTA , Club Zonta, Garden Club El Tulipan, Caritas de Matamoros.  Head Volunteer at the pediatric unit at the Matamoros General Hospital.   She ministered the forgotten ones at the local jail for many years.  She coordinated transportation and logistics for burned children from Mexico and South America treated at the Shriners Hospital in Houston.

She was a connector, a doer with a vast network of people.  If we must choose the best lessons learned from her: be there for others, always be appreciative to those who give you a hand and pay it forward.  No problem was too big, and no matter where we were she was always attentive and willing to give her 3 daughters her full support.

Education was her dream, our house while modest had the coolest room: a library with maroon carpet with books and encyclopedias from the floor to the ceiling; and with her hand-off approach, she helped us develop a passion for learning.  She was an enabler with an open checkbook for education and hobbies.  She allowed us to pursue our own dreams, make our own mistakes and learn our own lessons.  However, we always knew we had her unconditional love and support as well as the help of those she knew.  Her biggest treasures were her three daughters, Rosy, Laura & Claudia; 9 grandchildren, Beu, Roberto, Ramiro, Juan Roberto, Marcella, Giselle, Anthony, Melissa and Oscar, and 2 great-grandchildren Santiago and Maria Regina.

For the last three years, we became our mom's mother as dementia took her brilliant mind little by little but not her hard-working spirit, she worked until 6pm on Saturday.  She finished her life sewing over 12,000 Christmas stockings that are donated to charities, schools, churches, nursing homes, friends and family.

You finished the race mom, well done.  Throughout your life, you reaped a lot of what you sowed. You were loved, visited by many.  On your last day, you enjoyed every meal, listened to your favorite violin concert, listened to mass, enjoyed your ice cream, prayed the Rosary and you got your wish and crossed the bridge towards paradise on your sleep.
