Obituary

Maria Antonia (Toni) Duran 69, passed from this life guided by Jesus on a journey to heaven to join her loved ones in eternal life on Friday, August 21, 2020. Her kind heart and caring soul will be missed by all. Toni was born in Sonora, TX on Oct. 8, 1950 to the parents – Mr. & Mrs. Miguel Duran, Sr. She was the youngest of five children. She is preceded in death by both parents: Romana R. Duran & Miguel R. Duran, Sr.; her sister Delia Esquivel and her daughter, Marisa Jo Martinez.

Toni was a seamstress by trade.With her God given talent and passion for sewing, she had opportunities to work as a seamstress at some of the most exclusive clothing establishments, such as, "The Clothes Horse Boutique" and "Neiman Marcus" where she managed to make a name for herself.She was well known for taking the most difficult alterations, and have them done in record time with such quality of workmanship that you couldn't tell that the item had been altered at all.She took great pride in all of her work.

SURVIVORS:She is survived by her daughter, Claudine Calton and her husband Gary Calton and their sons, Chon Miguel Calton, his daughter & Toni's great granddaughter, Camilla Marisa Calton and their youngest son Christian Calton; Her grandsons, John & Joe Anthony Martinez and Jase Brown; also by her sister, Odelia Martinez and her children, Delma Martinez and Frank and his wife Katherine Martinez and her sister Amanda Garza and her husband Juan Garza and their children, Freddy and Valerie Garza; also her brother Miguel R. Duran, Jr. and his children, Lanette Carmichael and her son John Miguel Carmichael and son Michael R. Duran as well as Delia's surviving husband, J.P. Esquivel and their children Jess David Esquivel and his wife Patty Esquivel and Joanna Canales and her husband Sean Canales and their two son's Chase & Eric Canales.Along with several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
