On December 31, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Mae Fleener, age 93, went to be with Jesus.Mae was born in Defiance, Ohio on July 12, 1925 before moving to Bloomington, Indiana graduating from Bloomington High School and settling in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Mae began working for the law offices of Bauer & Kincade (present day Wright, Shagley & Lowery) on January 2, 1948 as a legal secretary – a position she held for 50 years finishing out her career as the secretary to Bob Wright.When she retired to move to Texas, the mayor of Terre Haute declared November 24, 1997 as "Mae Fleener Day" honoring her dedication and commitment to excellence.

She was a long time member of Temple, Lord, Jesus, Christ Church (now Grace Temple). She moved in with Clyde and Lena Miller, the founders of the church, in 1945 and has been an honorary member of their family ever since.

Mae moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1997 following her granddaughter to be closer to family.She came out of retirement and spent several years working in various positions for First American Title before finally retiring and living the "good life" with her fur kids Angel and Hope.
Mae was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for IU Basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Mavericks.She had a special love of NASCAR racing and could be found every Sunday cheering her favorite teams Stewart-Haas Racing and Jr Motorsports and their drivers on.
She was preceded in death by her mother Nelsie Erton and father Minor Fleener, her brother Minor "Bud" Fleener and her daughter Shirley Ann Ferrand.

She is survived by her closest living relative, granddaughter and best friend Lisa Ferrand of Fort Worth, TX. Immediate family includes Mary Ann Wahoff, Dianne and Jeff Boone, Jeffrey Boone and Marianne Hinkle all of Aledo, TX; Danny and Becki Fleener of Pensacola, Florida; Rusty Buerger, Brad Buerger and daughter Caroline, Jason and Jill Rowe and daughters Mia & Olivia, Jae Buerger, Ryan and Elysia Buerger and daughter Bella and Aimee and Mike Hayzlett and daughters Harper and Marlow.

A celebration of life will be held at the Marty Leonard Community Chapel on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following at Colonial Country Club.
