Mack Bonnie Spence, Jr., passed away at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, TX at 11:31 a.m. on January 10th, 2021. He was 71 years old when the Lord called his name to come home.

Mack is predeceased by his father, Mack Bonnie Spence, Sr.; his mother, Regina Mills Spence; sisters, Ouida Brown and Agnes McAllister; and grandson, Miguel Payne Jr.

Mack is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Janie Borah-Spence; and remembered by his sisters, Cherrie Comerie and Althea Miller; brother, Norris "Omid" Mills; sister-in-law, Carol Mills; daughters, Kimberly Spence Taylor, Stephanie Spence, Stacey Cooley, Tawanda Willingham, Mia Garrett, Keisha Williams, Sherita Williams; and sons, Richard Spence, Jamal Spence, Michael Borah, Ronnie Borah, and Shane Borah. Mack will also be remembered by his 32 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Mack was born in St. Louis, MO on September 28th, 1949. He grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Central High School in 1967 before making the decision to serve his country and joining the Army in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry division in Vietnam from July of 1968 until June of 1970 when he was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the Vietnam War. After returning to civilian life, Mack spent 20 years in the dry-cleaning business and moved to Texas in 1986. in the early 1990's Mack pursued a career in warehousing and spent 17 years as a manager with Park Row Lighting in Southlake/Arlington, TX while also working part time for 10 years as a bartender and server at Softball World where he touched many people's lives with his big smile, charm, and witty comebacks that made everyone love him. In 2007, at the age of 58, he retired due to complications of his injuries sustained while serving in Vietnam. Mack spent the last 14 years of his life retired and enjoying life with his family. Mack was loved by many people from all walks of life and his one-of-a-kind personality will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

There will be two services to honor and celebrate the life of Mack Bonnie Spence Jr. The first will be held at the Walnut Creek Church of God located at 200 Newt Patterson Rd in Mansfield, TX on January 30th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will also be a military service with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 2900 Sheridan Rd in St. Louis, MO on February 19th, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. Jefferson Barracks will be Mack's final resting place so he can be at peace and reside with his fellow brothers and sisters in arms.
