Loyd Juner Bruce of Arlington, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018. Loyd was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Butler County, Missouri, to Loyd and Ruth (Lemastus) Bruce. He graduated in from Neelyville High School in 1969 and attended college at School of the Ozarks near Branson. After serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, Virginia, for two years, he returned to Missouri, and worked in information technology as a programmer for many years and later in security for General Motors in Arlington, Texas, also for a number of years.
While attending college, Loyd met and married Paula Breedlove. Their son, Charles Wilson (CW) born in 1978, and the couple later divorced. Loyd and Charles spent lots of time together and often watched football on the weekends. After Loyd's grandson John Wayne Bruce was born in 2013, weekend activities became more varied and included playing ball themselves. Frequent neighborhood walks, reading books, and telling stories kept their imaginations engaged.
Additional survivors include two brothers and three sisters, all of Missouri, and his daughter-in-law Jodie Bruce in Fort Worth.
A memorial service with be held at 2 p.m. at the Arlington First Church of the Nazarene located at 1301 W. Green Oaks Boulevard. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made through www.AdvocatesForSpecialPeople.org, a local organization.
