Obituary

Linda Bradley Parker, age 81, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on August 9,1943, in Lebanon, Indiana to Maurice (Brad) and Virginia Bradley, Linda attended Pike High School in Pike Township, Indiana. An alumna of Purdue University, Linda's passion for languages took root in college and led her to study abroad in Mexico and Spain and major in Spanish.

Linda's career began in the skies as a flight attendant with Braniff Airlines, where she flew international flights utilizing her love of languages. Her career with Braniff took her to Dallas, Texas where she met and married John Parker. When Braniff flew its last flight in 1989, she made a career change and became a bilingual Kindergarten teacher in Dallas ISD. Her dedication and love for her students was evident to all she taught. This second career allowed her to truly make a difference in the lives of many children. Her passion earned her recognition as Teacher of the Year in 1997 as well as a legacy of former students who loved her dearly. Linda will be remembered as a selfless, loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Brad and Virginia Bradley.  She is survived by John Parker, her husband of many years; son, Tim (wife, Amy; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Will, Emily and Katherine); daughter, Carrie (husband, Jason; and grandchildren, Parker and Jacob), sister, Mary Lou Sheehan and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff, nurses, aides and the greatest therapy team at The Stayton at Museum Way who lovingly took care of her.

A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth on November 9, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Linda's memory to the animal or children's charity of your choice in honor of her dedication to children and deep love for animals.
