Kristine Kathlene Major Codling passed away on June 20th, 2026 after a hard fought battle with liver disease and cancer. Born in Irving, Texas February 21st, 1965 to Cleo Major and Priscilla Owings Major. She is survived by her two children, Clint Codling (Adrienne) and Bailey Morris (Mike Moya); four grandchildren, Madeline, Harrison, Maverick and Octavia Codling, her sister Belinda Hammack (John), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her brothers Marvin Major and Harrison Lee Major, and her husband Dennis Codling.

Kristine found her time best spent with family, whether she was attending a football game, choir concert, or spending the night watching her grandbabies, which she jumped at the chance. She loved her dogs and horses, caring diligently for her animals. With her son, she played video games, and with her daughter, board games. While her kids were at school, she spent time researching genealogy and family history. Her children's friends begged to come over to eat her lovely cooking, inspiring a love for the craft in her son-in-law, Mike.

Everyone can recall a moving conversation with Kristine, or a time she took them by surprise. Her soul was vibrant and boisterous, never backing down from a challenge. All her life she remained bold and assertive, but contrastingly kind and thoughtful. She left an impression in every life she crossed, and will be dearly missed.

Kristine was laid to rest in a small memorial service on Saturday, July 18th, at Bear Creek Cemetery.
