Kenny Libick of Crowley, Texas, passed away peacefully January 28, 2019, after an 11-month battle with cancer. He was 72 years old. Ken was born in Englewood, Colorado, to Ben and Billie Libick. In 1946, they moved to El Segundo, California, where Ken attended school and participated in many sports such as wrestling and water polo, along with Boy Scouts, surfing, fishing and raising roller pigeons. He also took up hunting game birds. Ken graduated from El Segundo High School in 1965 and was employed by Standard Oil of South California.

Ken married Sharon B. Tanger of Hawthorne, California in 1969. They resided in the Hawthorne area, then later moved to Stanton and Cypress, California. Ken began working with Northrop in Pico Rivera, retiring as Facilities Services Supervisor in 1997. He was a dedicated Boy Scout Leader and coach for Stanton Little League, Cypress Little League and Pony League, and Cypress Pop Warner.

After retiring, Ken and Sharon moved to Granbury, Texas, and then to Crowley. He maintained his roller pigeon raising, and was a member of the National Birmingham Roller Club, where he traveled across United States to attend conventions. Ken passed along his enthusiasm to his granddaughter, Sophie, and together they enjoyed showing pigeons at the Fort Worth Stock Show. When Ken wasn't tending to his birds, you could find him working on the house, gardening, helping Sharon throw a party, or cheering for the TCU Horned Frogs with his family.

Ken adored his grandkids. From sports practices and games, to swim classes, school plays, birthday parties, music classes for 3-year-olds, you name it — Papa was there. Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sharon, on June 30, 2017; and his parents Ben and Billie of La Verkin, Utah.

Ken is survived by son, Jon (Kim) Libick of Alvarado, Texas; daughter, Kimberly (Dan) Chambless of Mansfield, Texas; and son, Kevin (Kara) Libick of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Sophie, daughter of Kimberly; Knox, son of Kevin; and Courtney and Erik, daughter and son of Jon; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Lunde (Lee) of Bismarck, N.D., and Ruby E. Klement (Dan) of Fort Atkinson, WI; cousin, Karen Ann Calhoun of Texas City, Texas.

Kenny will be laid to rest at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2019, at Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth Tx 76107 followed by a reception at Christ Chapel, 3701 Birchman Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas76107.
