Obituary

Joseph Francis McKenna, 64, known to all as simply "Joe", of Richfield, MN and Arlington, TX, has passed away in Dallas. Joe is a 1974 graduate of Richfield High School in Minnesota, and served in the U.S. Air Force before joining Republic Airlines and later American Airlines as an aircraft mechanic. He and his family have lived in the Metroplex since the 1990's, in homes in Grand Prairie and Arlington.

Named in honor of his grandfather, Joseph John of Browerville, MN, and his uncle, Joseph McKenna of Washington, DC, Joe inherited his mechanical and carpentry talents from both of them over the decades. Joe travelled extensively throughout the world, visiting the UK, France, Mexico, Bolivia, and numerous US states but his favorite place to seek peace and tranquility was always Joe Pool Lake.

The lake and surrounding parkland was his "go to" source when he was in need of joy, health, strength, solace, relaxation, understanding, or forgiveness, and it continued to fulfill this role to the end of his life.

Joe is survived by his son, Matthew of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Marissa of Arlington, TX; daughter, Jordan of Austin, TX; Marissa and Jordan's mother, Connie Quade also of Arlington, TX; his mother, Mary of Bloomington, MN; sisters, Libby (Fred) McGraw, Margaret Herrmann, Mary Catherine, and Mary Ellen (Mark) Settergren, all of Minnesota; and brothers, John David (Veronika) of Colorado Springs, CO; Peter of Washington, DC, Paramus NJ and Hove, England; and Paul (Maggie) of Ruckersville, VA. Joe also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and co-workers.

Arrangement for the veterans' burial he has earned remain pending, dependent on evolving health and safety regulations.

Rest in the eternal peace you always wanted, Joe.

Namaste
