Jose
Gallegos
Mar 19, 1956 — May 17, 2025
Arlington
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our brother Joe Gallegos. "Joey" joined the angels on May 17, 2025. Just 69 years old, he was born March 19, 1956 in El Paso, Texas to Jose Gallegos Alvidrez and Vicente Singh Gallegos. He is survived by daughters Savannah Celeste Gallegos and Alyssa Joe Gallegos. His brothers Orlando and Lucas, sisters Frances, Rosalinda and Margie.
While Joey's life was full of ups and downs, after graduating from Jefferson High School in El Paso, Texas he went on to study mechanics at Arizona Automotive Institute, Glendale, AZ. In 2022, together with his siblings, he experienced the profoundly sad passing of his mother.
During Joe's life he enjoyed gardening and landscaping, as well as motorcycle riding. He also enjoyed martial arts and later received a black belt in Jujitsu. He additionally worked with adult men who were paroled from prison, and became a Counselor for Mental Health services.
At 69 his life was cut short by cancer, but as witnessed by those around him, in his last few months, he just wanted to make people laugh. Everyone who entered his rehabilitation or hospital room was asked about their life. What was their story, their origins, their aspirations. He would tell them to enjoy life, to take things easier, and to appreciate those around them. He told them to build those relationships because that's what really matters.
