John L. Mayfield, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 24, 2021. John passed away peaceful at home surrounded by his family.
John was born September 4, 1941 in Unionville, Louisiana to Emmaline Davies Mayfield and Dank Mayfield.
John is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Mayfield-Gonzales (Ron); his stepson, James Mathis (Hazel); his sister, Hazel Crew; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle; daughter, Debra; and son, John.
Although John lived the majority of his life in Dubach, at time of his passing he resided in Arlington, Texas with his daughter, Cynthia. John's heart remained in Louisiana. John will be buried in Dubach, Louisiana.
