John Gouldin Conway, Jr., 81, passed away August 10, 2019 in Keller, Texas after a brave battle with Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Carole Conway, his sister Constance Epperson, his daughter Renee Jeter Merriman and her children Christine Merriman and Cutter Merriman, son JG Jeter and spouse Bevan and their children Shay Carlson, Jessy Jeter and Zack Jeter, and his daughter Michelle Conway.He was a beloved stepfather and 'Dad' to daughter Shannon Montgomery and spouse Ken and their children Kensington and Tate, son Dennis Crosby and his daughter Paris, and daughter Dawn Crosby Moore and spouse Brett.He is blessed with five great grandchildren, Colt, Evie, Levi, Corey and Wynlee.

John was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on October 15, 1937 to John Gouldin Conway and Glendora Damron. He graduated from Howe Military Academy as part of the class of 1955 and went on to attend Texas A&M, Kentucky Wesleyan and the University of Kentucky. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1962.From there, John held various senior level management positions in property management, real estate as well as having his own custom home building business in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.And while his real estate career was distinguished he also owned restaurants and taught dance at the Arthur Murray School participating in many dancing exhibitions over the years.

In 1985, John met Carole Crosby, his soon-to-be wife.John's devotion to Carole was unwavering as the two shared a happy and loving life together.One of the many blessings of this union was John turning his life over to Christ in January, 1999 serving Him through daily prayer, devotion as well as serving in many volunteer positions with his congregations. Despite his many work and volunteer commitments, John was a steady, reliable, and loving presence in the lives of his family. John was always willing to lend a hand, offer guidance or just encouragement when anyone needed it. John paid attention to details, and never left a picture hanging crooked or a measurement left to guess.John epitomized the term "gentleman" as he always put others before himself as he acted as a servant leader.
He was a member of Gateway Church in Southlake, where he served in the Gateway Safety Unit (GSU), and was previously a deacon at Kingdom Harvest Church.He also studied 11 consecutive years with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).

A memorial service will be held in John's honour on Saturday, September 7 at Gateway Church 700 Blessed Way, Southlake, Texas at 10:00 a.m.
