Joella P. Hayles (Nana),  loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Mansfield, TX on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.

Joella was born on September 23, 1944, in Grapevine, Texas, Joella was the cherished daughter of Ruth L. and Richard L. Powers. She was a dedicated worker in housekeeping and retail for many years, but her greatest joy came in 2001 when she retired to care for her grandchildren. This selfless act was a testament to her deep love and commitment to family.

Joella was married to the love of her life, Charles W. Hayles in November of 1979 they moved to Paris Tx in 1980 and lived there  until his passing in 1989. Together, they had a daughter, Melinda J. Borah, and Joella lovingly embraced Charles's two daughters, Donna G. Elliott and Karen E. Goins, as her own.

Joella's gentle spirit and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. She is survived by her devoted daughter Melinda Borah and her husband, Shane; her step daughter Karen Goins and her husband, Jerry. Her memory will be treasured by her six grandchildren: Bridget Garcia, Joseph Goins, Jeffrey Elliott (Megan Ash), Sarah Goins, Shane Michael Borah (Shelby Borah), and Hailey Borah. She was also the proud great-grandmother of two, Elyse Elliott and Silas Borah, who brought joy to her later years. She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Hayles; her parents, Ruth and Richard Powers; her step daughter, Donna G. Elliott; her sisters, Shirley J. Rich and Mary Lou McClanahan; and her nieces, Beth McClanahan, Belinda Kitchens, and Michelle Hampton.
