James Raymond Tomlin died at his home in Arlington, Texas, on May 8, 2024.  James was born February 4, 1930, in Hope, Arkansas.  He married his wife of 77 years, Frances Taylor, on February 8, 1947.  She was present at his side when he died.  James was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Tomlin on August 2, 1971.  He is survived by his wife, Frances, and his daughter, Pat Johnson and son-in-law Joel of Arlington, Texas. Mr. Tomlin was the proud grandfather to Jim Johnson and wife Jenny of Houston, Texas; Robert Johnson and wife Yvonne of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Stacy Johnes and husband Darin of Schertz, Texas.  He was also the loving great grandfather to Chloe, Micah, Grace, Lilly, Deztinee, Desira, Caleb, Evie, and Jeremiah.  Mr. Tomlin will be buried beside his son in Angleton, Texas, at a later date.
