James Albert Simpson, Jr., was a devoted and caring husband, family member, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Jim was 79, when he suddenly passed away at his residence on September 18, 2024.

Jim was born January 27, 1945, in El Paso, Texas, the son of James A. and M. Carlyn Simpson. He graduated from Permian High School (1963) and attended Odessa College. After marrying his childhood sweetheart, Janet K. Harrison in 1965, he began a career in aviation, working for American Airlines in Dallas in 1966, General Dynamics in1968 and retired from Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors. For many years he made annual camping trips to the wilderness and ski trips to the mountains. His life course was altered in 2008 when his wife of 43 years passed away after a lengthy illness. In his golden years, he became an avid dancer. In 2018, he married his dance partner for life Robbie J. Hux.  Jim and Robbie loved a reason to dress up, including many fun Halloween costumes, they were always ready to host a party, go dancing and enjoyed walking their dogs. They attended many theater shows and lots of their great grandkid's little league baseball games.  Jim was a true animal lover and cared for his many pets and strays.

Jim was a proud member of the Elks Lodge #124 and spent many hours volunteering. His highest rank was Exalted Ruler, the Elks brought Jim so much joy.

Jim is survived by his wife, Robbie Hux Simpson; a brother, William Simpson; stepson, Mike Hedtke; stepdaughter, Debbie McDonald; brothers-in-law Robert and Harrel Harrison, sister-in-law, Tressa Spencer and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
