Obituary

(November 29, 1930 - December 12, 2021), Fort Worth, Texas

Howard Paul Johnson, 91, a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, died at his home with his lovely Pat by his side.

A lifelong member of the Nazarene church, Howard's life is marked first and foremost by his faithfulness to his Lord. His love of family and friends, his commitment to those who were his clients and all those with whom he worked and played, is the evidence of his living relationship with Jesus.

Howard was born in Mobile, AL, where he met and married Pat, the love of his life in 1955. After service to his country in the U.S. Navy, he worked for the civil service investigating aircraft crashes around the world and also began a lifelong career in construction and homebuilding. His work for the civil service brought him and his young family to Fort Worth in 1965. His love of building soon took over and he directed his full-time efforts in construction.

Much of his free time was committed to preparing for teaching Sunday School. When he wasn't studying his Bible or doting on his loved ones, he fished, worked in his wood shop or his vegetable garden.

Howard is survived by Patricia Lee Johnson, his devoted wife of 66 years, his daughter Staci Eisner and son-in-law Stephen, his son Howard Paul Johnson II, his granddaughter Kathryn Bliss Lennox and husband Joel, grandson Patrick Eisner, and his beloved great-granddaughter Isabel Bliss Lennox, brother Willard B. Johnson, sister Barbara Sue Wood and her husband Harold, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and countless friends. Howard's family is especially grateful to Martha Martinez for her gentle, loving care over the past few years.

Howard is reunited in Heaven with his parents D.B and Corine Johnson, his sisters Margie, Sharon, and Alice, and his brother D.B.

Howard's family welcomes your presence at a memorial service celebrating his full and rich life which will take place at 2:00pm on December 22, 2021, at Burleson Church of the Nazarene (127 SW Thomas). A graveside service and internment will take place at noon, December 28, 2021 at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of our countless military veterans to the Fort Worth Presbyterian Night Shelter and designated for the Patriot House, or to the charity of your choice.
