Gary was a wonderful, loving, brave, kind, funny, thoughtful man who loved his wife Chris and their puppy, Chloe, with all his heart. His life was marked with many difficult passages. He was raised by his grandparents, due to his mother being mainly absent, and had struggles during his youth.
He was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2007 and started a program of dialysis three days a week for 4 1/2 hours at a time.In his earlier life when he had good health, he enjoyed fishing and photography, and watching sports, being a lifelong Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns fan. In his last few years his ill health precluded him being able to do many outdoor activities, but he was an ardent gamer with friends all over the world, and he enjoyed day trips with Chris and Chloe, exploring the back roads and State Parks of Texas. To know him was to love him, and he was straightforward to a fault. Gary was known for his humor - sarcasm came to him as easily as breathing. He was very patriotic: he loved his country and was a very proud Texan.
He is survived by his wife Chris, his puppy Chloe, cousins Dennis, Kim, Justice and their families, Kerry, Dana andMarie. Also his Aunt Teresa and Uncle Ricky. Friends he thought of as family include Harlan, Rebecca, Daniel, Meleesa, Amy, Sarah, Sophia, Isaiah and Liam and John. Also Melanie who was responsible for bringing him and Chris together.
