Obituary

Etta Lou Parnell, 79, died in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, December 2, 2022. She was born in Portales, New Mexico to the late Curtis Elbert & Mada Lee Brasuell Britton on December 22, 1942. She predeceased her husband of 41 years (February 14, 1981), Clyde Eugene Parnell, who passed away December 30, 2022. She lived and worked in Colorado City, Dallas, and Grand Prairie, Texas until her retirement from ATI in 2010. She was a member of the Robinson Road Church of Christ, Grand Prairie, Texas, having taught children's Sunday School classes until her health began declining.

Mrs. Parnell was devoted to family, both immediate and extended. She loved sharing her talent of making homemade special occasion cards and she could often be found at her crafting space creating cards for those she loved. Mrs. Parnell loved researching her family's genealogy and compiled an extensive family history that went back at least into the 1600s. She was fond of watching nature, especially butterflies and varieties of birds.

Mrs. Parnell is survived by her daughter Renee (Jim) Denison of Sellersburg, Indiana; son, Don Jones of Grand Prairie, Texas; step-daughter, Malia Albin of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Tabitha Alexander (Jeffrey) of Kansas City, Kansas, Jessica Farrel (Caleb) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Taryn (Gary) McMillan of Odessa, Texas, and Spencer (Jodi) Albin of Midland, Texas; great grandchildren, Bella and Addy Albin, Taytum McMillan, and Joshua James Farrel.

Mrs. Parnell was cremated and her ashes will be interred along with those of her husband (a military veteran) at 11:15 A.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211, accompanied by a brief committal service.
