Erwin "Jake" Allison, 74 of Mansfield, TX went to meet our Lord and Savior on April 9, 2019. He was born in Springfield, Missouri to Lawrence and Juanita Allison on October 18, 1944.Jake was a loving husband, father and grandfather, especially known for his big bear hugs and affection. Jake was preceded in death by his brother, Garland Allison.
After graduating from high school in 1962, Jake attended college for a short period, but quickly decided to follow the paths of his father and grandfather in their love and dedication to the railroad.His first job at 18 was with the then Frisco Railroad in Springfield, going on to work for Burlington Northern Railroad his entire career. Jake began in maintenance of the rail cars, eventually ascending into management as their Chief Mechanical Officer. While at BN, Jake met the love of his life, Linda.They were married 33 years first living in Springfield, then Chicago, Denver and finally Mansfield, Texas, where they are members of First Methodist Mansfield. Once retired from the railroad, Jake and Linda enjoyed traveling and cruising all over the world, often visiting their children and grandchildren.
Jake is survived by his wife, Linda; sister, Anita Whitman of Springfield, MO; four children, Angela Hulett, Todd Allison, Jason Allison and Melanie Allison; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
