Obituary

Edward (Ed) Milton Holt passed away August 1st, 2020 at the age 89 in North Richland Hills Texas after a long illness. Edward (Ed) was born September 26th, 1930 in Warrensburg, Missouri and was one of seven children of Rev. Homer and Alice (Reid) Holt.

Ed was a USAF SSgt veteran of the Korean War, retired Western Electric Bell Telephone employee, and a retired Minister of the Presbyterian Church USA. He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (BS) and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Ed was an avid Artist, Genealogist, Singer, Golfer, Telephone Collector, Handyman, and Craftsman but Ed's first passion and calling for his entire life was to be of service to others through his participation in multiple youth groups such as the Boy Scouts of America and countless other community services affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.

Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and has made a lasting impact on everyone's life that he has touched. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends but never forgotten. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Alice (Reid) Holt; wife, Willetta (Ratliff) Holt; wife Nancy (Goodloe); brothers, Jim and Robert Holt; sisters, Ester (Erickson) and Martha (Wayne).

Ed is survived by wife, Anne (Taylor) Holt of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Rebecca (Johnson) of Aiken, South Carolina, Mary (Owen) of Jasper, Alabama; son, Timothy Holt and wife, Penny of Smyrna, TN; daughter, Valarie (Harper) and husband Allen of Pleasant View, TN; stepsons, Dale Taylor and wife, Truett of Fort Worth, TX; Buddy Taylor and wife, Kate of Fort Worth TX; and Bobby Taylor of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Stefanie Parnell of Piedmont, OK; Joseph Holt of Smyrna, TN; Nicholas Holt of Nashville, TN; Derrek Harper of Murfreesboro, TN; Seth Harper of Murfreesboro, TN; Tristan Harper of Tallahassee FL and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services for the family will be held at his final resting place in Jasper, Alabama at a later date.
