Obituary

Eddie Wayne Edwards

December 28, 1968 – October 18, 2026

When Eddie Wayne came home from the hospital just after Christmas in 1968, he arrived tucked inside a Christmas stocking, a story that became family legend and perfectly suited the life he would live. Eddie, the third son born to Jack and Jimmie Edwards, spent his years filling the world with a passion that could never be ignored.

Eddie passed away on October 18, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories for those who knew and loved him.

To know Eddie was to know someone who felt everything deeply. Music was an important part of his life. Whether a song was playing on the radio, echoing from a speaker, or simply running through his mind, music was never far from him. He enjoyed sharing songs, telling stories, and bringing laughter wherever he went.

Eddie learned mechanical skills from his stepfather, Shannon, whom he affectionately called "Homer." The lessons he learned beside Homer stayed with him throughout his life, and he carried both those skills and memories with him.

His life was filled with highs and lows, beautiful melodies and a few hard notes. Through every chapter, he remained a passionate soul who loved deeply, laughed loudly, and never stopped searching for brighter days.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents- father, Jack Edwards; mother/stepfather, Jimmie Nell & Shannon "Homer" Penland; and his beloved son, Gage Wesley Edwards.

He is survived by his children, including Ashley Macias, Rae Edwards, and Blake Edwards, along with other children who were part of his life's journey. He is also survived by his grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The song of Eddie's life was not always an easy one. It carried both harmony and heartbreak, joy and struggle, triumph and sorrow. But it was undeniably his song, played loudly, passionately, and from the heart. Those who loved him will remember the laughter, the music, the stories, and the man who never experienced life halfway.

May the music play on.
