Obituary

Duane (Cowboy) Sherman, age 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.
This wonderful man, that everyone called Cowboy, was a devoted father and husband to his wife Paula and their 9 children. Cowboy and Paula's love was truly an inspiration. For his children, his tough love and big heart is what guided themand helped them grow into the people that they are today. He was a simple and determined man. If he couldn't fix it, it wasn't broken. No challenge was too big nortoo small, anything from a diesel engine to helping a granchild with a tangled yo-yo, he was always there. He was loved by many, but will be missed by all. Touching so many lives over the last sixty-three years, with a firm grasp on right and wrong, Cowboy was never shy about pointing out either. He spent his life selflessly giving his time, blood, sweat, and tears for the people that he loved.
Cowboy loved to play pool and was known for doing it well. With his Cue in one hand and a Crown & 7 in the other, he would say, "If they are dumb enough to play me, I'm smart enough to take their money!" But it was a sight to behold, he could beat the pants off of an opponent, take his money, shake his hand and still leave him smiling! We are going to miss you Dad! Now go get the rest you've spent a lifetime earning! We love you!!
Cowboy is survived by his 2 sisters: Gerry, and Cathy; 4 sons: Duane "Lil C'; Shannon, Shawn, and Jeremy; His 5 daughters: Paula June "PJ", Elizabeth, Cristina, Bobbi Jo, and Shannon; His 35 beautiful grandchilden and 6 precious great grandchildren; Dear friend and companion Chris; as well as many nieces and nephews and close family friends.
He is preceeded in death by his wonderful wife Paula, beautiful daugher Annie, and grandson Dominic; His parents, as well as several Brothers and Sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks to Magnolia Hospice for the immense care and support provided.
A Celebration of Life for Cowboy will be held at a later date.
