Darlton Edward Dyer, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. He was born on March 15, 1935, in Orth, Texas, to the late Reba (Smith) Dyer and J.V. Dyer.

Darlton spent most of his life in Fort Worth and Newcastle, Texas. He built a long and respected career in data management and computer consulting, where he took pride in helping businesses solve problems and operate more effectively. He valued good work and the opportunity to make a difference.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gerald Dyer; and his son, Darlton Dyer, Jr.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Adela Dyer, who was the center of his world; his children, Teresa Dyer, Angela Abston and husband Terry, and Dylan Dyer and wife Micaela; and his stepchildren, Lt. Col. Michael Hernandez, USMC (Ret.) and wife Rhonda, and Derrick Hernandez and wife Stephanie. He is also survived by his brother, Joel Dyer and wife Gayle; and his sisters, Ann Crenshaw and Cindy Dyer.

He is further survived by his grandchildren, Michael Andrews; Nellie, Geneva, Judson, and Pierce Dyer; and step-grandchildren, Miguel, Alena, and Matthew Garza; along with six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Darlton loved hunting, spending time with family, and staying connected with his many friends and longtime classmates. Later in life he became an avid reader, often finishing a book in just a couple of days. Though never much of a pet person, he eventually gave in to the charm of his wife's cat, Tippy. He dearly loved Blue Bell ice cream — a simple joy he never outgrew — and he was known for smiling a lot and sharing that happiness with others.

He will be remembered as a happy man who carried that spirit through to the very end, and as someone who deeply loved his family — especially his wife, Adela.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Flower Mound Presbyterian Church located at 1501 Flower Mound Road, Flower Mound TX 75028.
