D'Ann was born, raised, and lived in Fort Worth, Texas, but also spent a portion of her beloved childhood in San Diego, CA. She graduated in 1973 from Azle High School. Upon graduation she attended the University of North Texas, eventually settling on a career in sales. She would then marry Gary Paul Fontenot; and was graced with the love of her life, her daughter, Lauren Renee Fontenot, to whom she adored every single day of her life. She worked in all aspects of sales but spent most of her life dedicated to food industry sales. D'Ann was passionate about family, especially with her daughter Lauren and Granddaughter Amaya. She enjoyed social gatherings with friends and loved trying new restaurants. D'Ann was most passionate about celebrating birthdays and holidays. Her craftiness and attention to detail was second-to-none. Her gifts made everyone feel special because of the level of detail she spent shopping and preparing every gift, down to the hand-crafted bows, ribbons, gift wrapping and thoughtfulness behind any selfless gifting she has ever given. She was especially passionate about jewelry, clothing, and had an eye for the "finer things in life." She would also be the first to bake you a cake and decorate it to perfection to make sure you knew that you were and felt loved. She was a terrific daughter, wife, mother, step-mother, grand-mother "Mimi"  and mother-in-law, and will truly be missed by many.

The joys of her life were her daughter Lauren Fontenot, Granddaughter Amaya "AKA; baking partner in crime", son-in law Richard Perez, step-son Jared Fontenot, step daughter Erin Miller, and her grand-dog Hendrix.
