Cleo was born in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, to Albin and Marie (Engel) Johnson, and passed away in Arlington, Texas. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1965. In 1967, she married Jerry Anderson, who had two sons, and together they raised a blended family with four more children of their own.

Over the years, Cleo held many roles, both in her work and in her family life, that reflected her caring nature, strong values, and joy for living.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her stepsons Kevin and Kelly; and her siblings Victor, Elmer, Arthur, Clarence, Thelma, Bert, and Erma.

Cleo is survived by her children: sons Karl and Arthur (Sunny), daughters Marie Murray (Michael) and Kristine Tranmer (Jeremy), and stepdaughter-in-law Kim. She was a beloved grandmother to Jennifer Bengston (Jeremy), Nick, Kayla Berry (Talon), Zac Hinds (Carly), Gage (Alexis), Kole Winnett, Maddy, Jack Winnett, Dean, Tracy Murray, and Astro Tranmer. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren.

She is remembered with love by her dear family friend Ruth Perez, many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of cherished friends.

Cleo was kind, curious, and full of humor. She loved sewing, crocheting, decorating for the holidays, and cheering on her Minnesota Vikings. She told unforgettable stories, made meals that brought everyone together, and created a home where all felt welcome. Family was everything to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and foster parent.

Her generosity touched countless lives. Cleo was always learning, always ready for a game of cards or Yahtzee, always up for a shopping trip or a good visit. Her door was open to everyone at what was fondly known as "Cleo's Do Drop-In."

She enjoyed her morning coffee and her favorite beverages, and she never cared much for chicken.

Those who knew Cleo will remember her laughter, her stories, and the way she made everyone feel at home. Above all, Cleo showed up for others, fully present, fully loving, and deeply committed to those around her.

A Celebration of Cleo's Life will be held on October 18 in Rendon, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Cleo by extending a random act of kindness in her name. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Long Bridge Lutheran Church in Minnesota.
