In Loving Memory of Charles Tyrone “Ty” Richards
Charles Tyrone “Ty” Richards, was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Jack Ray Richards and Vera Ann Faircloth. He made his home in Springtown, Texas, and passed from this earthly life into eternal life on October 24, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of faith, integrity, and dedicated service to the Lord.
Ty married the love of his life, Judy, in 1965, and three months later was drafted into the United States Army. Ty had been working at Texas Steel loading boxcars with ingots, but military testing revealed his strong abilities in mathematics. He was stationed in Korea for 13 months for training in computer programming. This laid the foundation for his career at Bell Helicopter. Before retiring from Bell, his final assignment was phasing out COBOL programming, marking the final chapter of a long and dedicated career.
In his younger years, Ty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, but some of his happiest moments were found in the simple pleasures of home. He was a homebody at heart, and he understood that life's greatest blessings were often found not in grand adventures, but in the everyday moments shared with the people he loved. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Ty was a patient and dependable man whose gentle spirit and sweet smile will be remembered by all who knew him. He was never one to seek the spotlight, but he could always be counted on to be there when needed. At church, he faithfully served on the board and worked behind the scenes to ensure that business matters were taken care of. His steady support and willingness to serve were a blessing to both his pastor and his church family. His faith in the Lord was the foundation of his life.
Ty is preceded in death by his daughter, Sylvia Cristina Schrader, mother Vera Ann Faircloth, father Jack Ray Richards, and niece Desiree Richards. He is survived by his wife, Judy Richards; his son Josh Richards (Karen); son-in-law Jim Schrader; his grandchildren Caleb Richards (Jamie), Anna Binz (Hunter), and Nathan Richards; great-grandchild Saint Richards; brother Dennis Richards (Sandy); sister Cindy Milne and niece Shannon Salee; niece Renee Loper (Dustin); nephew Michael Richards (Marsha); and numerous extended family members who cherished him.
Though his family and friends will deeply miss his faithful presence, the legacy he left will continue to live on in the lives of those he touched. He showed those around him what it means to love faithfully, serve with kindness, and walk humbly with the Lord.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
