Cathryn Suzanne Engel Clark passed away peacefully Friday, May 2nd in Highland Village, Texas. Cathy was born July 9, 1953, in Fort Worth, where she lived until moving to Granbury in July of 1997.
Beginning at age 8, swimming was a lifelong commitment. In the 1960's she swam with Burford Swimming Team in Arlington Texas and through the 1970's she competed on school swimming teams while attending Eastern Hills High School and Texas Wesleyan College. In the 2000's, Cathy volunteered as an assistant coach for the Granbury Seals Swimming Team inspiring many young swimmers and competing in TAAF swimming events through the years.
In 1983, Cathy earned a Master of Education Degree from Texas Christian University, and after teaching Kindergarten for 33 years, in Ft. Worth ISD and Granbury ISD, proudly became a retired Early Childhood Teacher. Cathy was an active member of the Fort Worth Area Association for the Education for Young Children and worked in Fort Worth Creative Problem-Solving Events for most of her teaching career. In 2006, she was honored by the Granbury Masonic Lodge, receiving the Lamar Award for Personal Achievement.
Cathy was a member of the Hood County Retired School Personnel Association, the Order of the Eastern Star and was a lifelong member of Poly Methodist Church. Cathy, a loving Mother, teacher, and friend to many, enjoyed music, cooking, growing and arranging flowers and being outdoors.
Cathy is survived by her son, Scott Clark, Lewisville, Texas and brother, Wallace Engel of Fort Worth.
