Carolyn Sue Dicken Smith went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, Nonnie, and great-Nonnie. She spent her life serving her family and the Lord in church ministry. Through the years, she has taught Sunday school for all ages ranging from youth to senior adults, served in the Women's Ministry at First Euless, and rarely missed an opportunity to share the gospel or invite a friend or stranger to come to church with her.

She also enjoyed serving alongside her husband on mission work trips during their retirement years. She did volunteer work with the Crisis Pregnancy Center and the Tarrant County Rape Crisis Center. She was also a "Pink Lady" at Hunt Regional Medical Center for many years. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strength, devout faith, and famous chicken salad. She had the ability to make everyone feel like family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but we are thankful that we will see her again one day in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Luther "Sonny" Smith; her father, Fred Dicken; her mother, Gertrude Dicken; and her older sister, Joyce Dicken Smith.

She is survived by her two daughters, Denise Hendley and Pam Hill; her two sons-in-love, Mark Hendley and Greg Hill; and her adopted son, Larry Watson; her five grandchildren and their spouses, Matt & Kim Hendley, Rebecca & Tyler Hall, Aaron & Brandis Hendley, Hannah & Todd Haymans, and Melissa & Austin Mohr; and her eight great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Mason, & Taryn Hendley, Casen, Georgia, & Cooper Hall, Camryn and Deacon Hendley.She is also survived by two younger sisters, Nelda Gambill and Renee Tinker, as well as other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at First Euless on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the large chapel.
