Bobby Joe (BJ) Littleton, age 90, passed away peacefully in Arlington, Texas, on December 18, 2024.

B.J. was born in Gladewater, Texas, on July 12, 1934, to J.B. Littleton and Josephine Littleton. B.J. graduated from John Tyler High School in 1953. He moved to Arlington in 1953 where he attended Arlington State College now known as The University of Texas at Arlington. He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree.  He served in the U.S. Army from April 1957 to April 1959. He was married to Freddie Littleton for 24 years and they had a daughter, Joni Jean Littleton Wilson; and son, Mark Alan Littleton. He enjoyed coaching sports teams for both Joni and Mark.  He could be seen wearing a fedora hat while coaching.

He worked at Vought in Grand Prairie for a short period. In 1961, he went to work as a Safety and Health Engineer at Continental Insurance. He traveled throughout Texas, New Mexico and Arkansas inspecting boilers, elevators and buildings for insurability. He eventually became Branch Manager of that department and retired from there in 1992. He started his own safety and health consulting business along with raising cattle and doing some remodeling work on homes.

He married Mary Ann Littleton in August 1978. They raised Brian Torres Littleton and enjoyed many years of building a life together. They enjoyed tennis, golf, hiking, country western dancing and traveling together.  He was a member of the Arlington Senior Men's Association for many years and made many friends there. He was a Christian, studied his bible and loved telling jokes and stories.

He has two grandsons, Austin and Brydon Wilson that he enjoyed spending time with, be it watching their soccer games, enjoying rounds of golf or laughing while snow skiing. Many family trips were taken together whether to the mountains, the beach or abroad to Italy, Israel, Australia, Spain and many more countries.

B.J. and Mary Ann joined First Methodist Mansfield in 1980 and became members of the Seekers Sunday School class around the same time. B.J. served the church in many capacities including various committees, Sunday School teacher, and mission trips.

B.J. was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Josephine Littleton, his stepmother, Mary Ann Cox; stepfather, Howard Cox; and stepson, Brian Torres Littleton.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann Littleton; his daughter, Joni Littleton Wilson and her husband Chuck; son, Mark Littleton; grandson, Austin Wilson and wife Laurel; grandson, Brydon Wilson and wife Blair; great-grandchildren, Keagan, Kennedy, Hudson and Sloane Wilson; sister, Linda Littleton Kenemore; brother, Jim Cox; brother-in-law, David Solorzano and wife Sally; brother-in-law, Manuel Solorzano, Jr. and wife Denise; sister-in-law, Sylvia Jefferson; sister-in-law Cathey Gonzales; brother-in-law, Sammy Solorzano; brother-in-law, Pete Solorzano and wife Diane; sister-in-law, Melissa Garcia; sister-in-law, Norma Alonso and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at First Methodist Church Mansfield located at 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive.
