Barbara J. Thomsen passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, February 14, 2019. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday February 23, 2019 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Fort Worth where she was a member for almost 50 years. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made in her honor with a gift to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 5709 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth, 76133.

Barbara June Heinke Thomsen was born November 19, 1941 in Weyauwega, Wisconsin to Eileen and Arnold Heinke.She was the middle sister of three children, including older sister, Ruth Boelter and younger sister, Juliane Manske.Barbara attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and graduated with a degree in English.She married her high school sweetheart, Douglas Thomsen of Neenah, Wisconsin in 1964 and they settled in Fort Worth, Texas.Barbara retired from the Institute of Behavioral Research at Texas Christian University in 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Thomsen; sisters, Juliane Manske and Ruth Boelter; and parents, Arnold and Eileen Heinke.

She thoroughly enjoyed her fellowship at St. Matthews Lutheran Church her weekly Sunday Sisters gatherings with lifelong friends, cheering for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, gardening, shopping at bargain stores with her granddaughter, reading, and numerous conservative political organizations.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Pamela Crisp and fianc John Varner of Willow Park, Texas, daughter, Polly Parker and son-in-law Lee Parker of Bedford, Texas; and granddaughter, Caroline Parker.
